Adaptation and Behavior

All birds have a job to do. They need to keep themselves alive and reproduce. They accomplish this through adaptation. Adaptation is a change in a bird's body or behavior that allows the bird to be more successful in life. Birds that are better adapted to their habitat have a better chance of doing their job to survive.

There are two kinds of adaptation: physical and behavioral. Let's see how some of the birds in Santa Clara Valley adapt to their environment! Click your mouse here to get started.
